From the guest list entry check to the hostess stand, you feel like you're entering an elevated experience. The venue is beautiful - the views and interior design that highlights those views. I had the sea bass it was good. I expected outstanding. The drinks and desserts were outstanding. The service was a little disappointing, especially given the fact that a heightened atmosphere is created from the moment you walk in the door. We had to ask the waiter what the specials were and then flag him when we were ready to order. He should have been checking in with us. I had to flag the assistant waiter to ask for more water for the table. This should be something they are keeping an eye on, especially given he was standing close to our table. It was also my birthday celebration, which we had to fill a questionnaire about allergies and celebrations ahead of our visit and I needed to ask if they were aware, because it was never acknowledged before I asked. I love the idea of supporting a female owned business, but I expected more.

Mariposa was delicious beyond words. Every single dish felt like a little discovery - the yuca fries were unbelievably crispy, the salmon was perfect, and the Veggie Nirvana truly lives up to its name. The Mariposa cocktail is a must-order, and their prickly pear cheesecake… easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in Sedona. But the real highlight was Lance. Not just our server - the person who genuinely took care of us. His hospitality, warmth, and the way he shared local recommendations (from food to hidden things to do around Sedona) made the entire experience even better. He made the night memorable. If you’re in Sedona, Mariposa is a must. Great food, stunning views, and people who make you feel right at home!

An exquisite dining experience with an amazing atmosphere. The beautiful décor was very inviting, complemented by breathtaking scenery through the large windows. We ordered the rack of lamb, which was cooked to perfection exactly as requested. The ribeye was prepared medium rare and paired wonderfully with the signature chimichurri. Both entrées were served family-style with potatoes au gratin layered with white cheese, Brussels sprouts, and butternut squash, making the sides just as memorable as the main dishes. Dessert was decadent, with presentation that was just as impressive as the flavors. The prickly pear cheesecake was smooth and melted in your mouth with each bite. The elegant butterfly and flower garnish added a beautiful touch. The tres leches cake was moist with the perfect balance of leches, topped with an edible flower that added a signature detail and enhanced the Latin-inspired atmosphere. For drinks, we enjoyed an Old Fashioned garnished with orange and cherry, as well as the Mariposa, which had a hint of spice balanced by mango flavor and a red pepper garnish. Both cocktails were well-crafted and complemented the meal nicely. The cappuccino was held in a retro style cup paired with a raw sugar stirrer, the taste was delicate yet flavorful. The service was attentive throughout the evening, with each course thoughtfully timed, creating a truly memorable dining experience.

We went to Mariposa at night, and the drive up to the restaurant was beautiful. The setting is very classy, with gorgeous outdoor areas and a refined, contemporary feel inside—though it’s a bit on the dark side indoors. Our servers were excellent—very nice and patient as we asked lots of questions about the menu. The food overall was quite good, with some real highlights: the elote empanadas were delicious, the vaquero steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, and the prickly pear cheesecake was lovely (though you couldn’t really taste much prickly pear). We also tried the pork chop and chicken entrées—both good, though nothing to write home about. The atún parfait was a fun and tasty starter, and Lisa’s salad was fresh, though a little heavy on the dressing. Still, nice to have some greens! Overall, a beautiful spot for a special dinner—classy atmosphere, great service, and some excellent dishes.

Our group of six had a wonderful table outside with great views for lunch. The weather was perfect. I had a delicious Red sangria, rich and creamy Mac and cheese and flavorful yuca fries. We were celebrating birthdays and all of us received a pretty tasty ice cream with chocolate dessert. Our server was friendly and attentive. Beautiful spot and everyone enjoyed their meal. Definitely recommend and would return for sure!

Dear reader - This is a very special place. The food and service here was so incredible that we visited twice in two days! Food - Every single dish was good. I especially enjoyed the skirt steak, shrimp ceviche, burgers, tres leches, and flan. I could eat a bucket of their cilantro slaw. Nothing pretentious, just simply amazing and balanced flavors. Service - the best trained group of staff I have come across in a while. Servers were knowledgeable about ingredients and techniques. Super friendly and working in sync. Food came out incredibly fast during dinner service. Ambiance - that incredible view from the patio and large dining room windows. Oh my…. Buying their cookbook right away.

A truly cozy and beautiful place. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the food is absolutely delicious, and the service is impeccable. We started with a perfectly prepared beef empanada. For the main course, I had the filet mignon medium rare with rosemary potatoes and a glass of Carneros Pinot Noir — quite simply, the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. The way they cook the meat is truly different: an inexplicable crispness on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside. A rare balance that feels intentional and refined. What made the experience unforgettable was the genuine warmth and kindness of the entire staff. You can feel the care in every detail. I loved everything about this place

Mariposa exceeded our expectations! I had read reviews that it was over rated and maybe it is to people used to the atmosphere of the red rocks but it was totally worth it. Brian was our server and he was exceptional! He brought us out chilled plates and forks for our salad course and warm plates for our sides. I asked for a recommendation for wine and he was spot on! Food was delicious and overall great experience. Recommend to anyone visiting Sedona for the first time that wants great food and amazing scenery.
